Smart Meter Inclusif

Artificial intelligence to support the proactive management of energy consumption by end users. The SMI – Smart Meter Inclusif project is part of a perspective linking artificial intelligence and micro-societal analysis. One of the objectives of the project is to design a new intelligent tool that is more efficient, safe and better accepted by consumers. Thus, users of this intelligent tool will be able to collect and predict the consumption of their electrical appliances.

The SMART WASTE project funded by Interreg Europe brings together local, regional, and national authorities to work hard to manage in an always more sustainable way their waste and implement a comprehensive and circular approach. They consider new approaches and technologies to reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover waste. They attempt to fit these into a comprehensive and circular approach.

CozZo food, home & personal supplies manager

Bulgarian startup “CogZum” develops anti-food waste app – “CozZo”. CozZo App is a food manager, combined with a versatile shopping and cooking planner that helps to avoid food waste by tracking what you have and when it expires. It is a typical example for sharing platforms circular economy business models.

BIOMYC Ltd

Biomyc Ltd is a start-up company with main objective to develop environmental friendly biodegradable packaging materials from agro-industry waste. Converting organic waste from agro-production into sustainable packaging materials according to CE principles for renewability is the main objective of the company. The competition of the established oil-based products (plastics) is strong and will be so in the coming years. Bio-based plastics are becoming an increasingly better alternative, despite the problems that accompany their current use.

It is the perfect opportunity to size up the competition.The CESME project addresses SME inclusion in the circular economy, by interregional meetings identifying good practices aiming to examine how best regional and local authorities and business development agencies can improve relevant policy instruments and design support packages to assist SMEs to enter the circular economy. Through the creation of a return on investment analysis – Circular Economy Toolkit quantifying the economic and social benefits of circular value chains as well as a White Book guiding SMEs step by step into circular economy, the CESME partnership hopes to introduce new circular initiatives targeted SMEs.

CIRTOINNO project

The main idea of the project is to increase the innovativeness of blue and green tourism small and medium entrepreneurships (SMEs), by integrating selected elements of the circular economy (CE) into their services, products and business models. The CIRTOINNO project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020.

Circular 4.0 is an INTERREG ALPINE SPACE project that aims to strengthen digitalisation processes by SMEs to foster innovation processes and accelerate the transition to the Circular Economy (CE) in Alpine Space. Torino Wireless represents the actors of the Piedmont region, focusing particularly in SMEs related to the RIS3 Regional sectors (manufacturing industry: mechatronics, textile, automotive; food and agriculture) with particular attention to the “Optimal Use” of circular economy (Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, better usage and supporting service, transition from product to service Business Models), but also on industrial efficiency and value recovery.

Polo ICT

The Regional ICT Innovation Cluster (Polo ICT) was established in 2009 by the Piedmont Regional Government, which entrusted Torino Wireless as innovation agency to develop and implement innovation support programmes for SMEs, Large Companies, Research institutes and other interested actors. Polo ICT is a network of companies (mainly SMEs) and research institutions with expertise on ICT and big data, Smart City and Communities, eHealth, Energy and environmental technologies, Industry 4.0., Circular economy, Electronics, Computer Science or Telecommunication.

Since 2012, Torino Wireless is the coordinator of the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities (SmartCommunitiesTech), established by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and aimed at fostering and supporting the development and implementation of innovative models of social integration, to offer solutions to problems of urban and metropolitan scale. TOWL is in charge of aggregating partners from both industry and research worlds, to carry out R&D projects.

reGIOcycle

UCB is coordinator of the project reGIOcycle funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research: Towards a Regional Circular Economy for Plastics and Bio-based Alternatives in Augsburg! reGIOcycle aims at the prevention of plastic waste and the substitution of plastics with bio-based materials as well as sustainable recycling practices. In order to reach this goal, the consortium will develop and implement a regional circular economy model in the City of Augsburg and its surrounding districts, creating an urban-rural network of stakeholders from municipalities, universities, companies and civil society.
The project’s main result will be a roadmap containing guidelines for the realization of a regional circular economy model. This model will also be designed for transferability not only to further product groups, but also to other regions.

CIRCULAR4.0

UCB is a project partner of the EU Interreg Alpine Space project CIRCULAR4.0. CIRCULAR4.0 will increase the knowledge and raise the attention of Entrepreneurs and Intermediaries on the circular economy concepts, develop and test a set of tools able to foster the contribute of Industry4.0 for the transition of SMEs to the circular economy, with particular attention to Circular Design models, Optimal Use models, Value Recovery models. The project intends to address Policy Makers, Intermediaries and SMEs to raise the importance of digitalization processes, focusing mainly on: – the innovation processes, – the business models and – the investments needed.

Biobased Industries Consortium

Environment Park is associated member of BIC consortium.
BIC is a non-profit organisation set up in Brussels in 2013. BIC represents the private sector in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the European Commission, also known as the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU). This public-private partnership aims to invest € 3.7 billion in bio-based innovation between 2014 and 2020.

The BBI JU, operating under Horizon 2020, was set up as one of the pillars of the EU Bioeconomy strategy (2012). The BBI JU is dedicated to transforming renewable, natural resources into bio-based products through a programme of research and innovation (R&I) activities.

In 2020 Polytechnic of Turin launched with Environment park its Circular economy thematic Platform aimed at enhancing research, technology transfer and training activities, developed by the university on the issues of the Circular Economy

CircPro

CircPro’s main objective is to increase the implementation of circular procurement under the targeted policy instruments so that the circular economy principles and criteria are incorporated into them or taken into account as a horizontal principle. CircPro targets the circular procurement from different approaches that have different complexity: all of which facilitate closed loops, but where the focus shifts from better quality products to new and innovative products and new business concepts.
Environment Park and CLEVER cluster have been involved by Regione Piemonte (ITALIA) as stakeholders
